1.ARTS AND CRAFTS
A wide variety of art materials and techniques are used to develop and enhance fine motor skills, creativity and group consciousness.
2. TURKISH LANGUAGE SKILLS
Through repetition of finger play, creative story completion and creation, as well as listening to stories, singing songs and playing with puppets, we aim to encourage the students to explain their thoughts and feelings clearly, using their mother tongue clearly and correctly.
3. READING-WRITING READINESS
In reading and writing lessons, the children are learning skills that will prepare them for primary. Among those skills are developing their visual recognition, fine motor skills and pronunciation of the alphabet.
4. SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS STUDIES
In our science laboratory, we make activites to improve students’scientific thinking skills. While learning by doing , students also improve their observationi experimenting and creative thinking skills.
With expert class teachers who use mathematical education aims as a base, students’development of concept is supported. The activities include rhythmical counting, matching, grouping, compare-contrast and sequencing. They improve students’ creative thinking skills with fun games and activities. At the same time their interest towards mathematics increase.
5. DRAMATIC PLAY
Story dramatization, pantomime and puppet use help to teach respect for rules and the rights of others, as well as learning how to protect their own rights, make friends and decisions, to work logically and with increasing concentration.
6. PERCUSSION
Percussion is an activity that developes children’s rythem skills to express their emotions in a social environment in collobration with language, music, and dance and movement; thus activating all intelligence areas
7. CHESS
In Cevre’s preparatory classes, the lessons in chess develop the children’s cognitive thinking skills, while teaching the children how to deal with feelings of loss and victory.
8. MUSIC
Music lessons in our schools are done both in English and Turkish. Music is a big part of our educational program, and in our music lessons our children develop interest in music which makes learning easier.
9. SWIMMING
Our swimming lessons help our children overcome any fears of water they may have and get used to water at an early age. It is also crucial to introduce the kids the importance of swimming as a sport.
10. PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Our P.E lessons improve not only our children’s self confidence, but also their physical and emotional development.
11. ENGLISH PROGRAM
The children enjoy a variety of activities (songs, stories, drama, games, art, craft, cooking, and projects, as well as text and computer-aided learning) through which they develop a considerable knowledge of everyday vocabulary and begin to build simple sentences of their own. All classes are team-taught by a native speaker and a Turkish English teacher to provide a balanced educational program. Cooking and computer lessons are taught in a half-group format to facilitate more intimate learning experiences and ensure more individual oral attention for each child. Kitchen lessons provide a chance to cook and explore textures, both in cooking and in messy play contexts. Seasonal parties introduce cultural customs and encourage multicultural awareness, and the annual English show provides a chance for students to showcase their learning, as well as have fun taking part in a dramatic extravaganza!
12. ART IN ENGLISH
All children love to colour and draw. Art in English aims to improve creativity and imagination. English Art allows children to experiment and explore new materials and techniques.
