1st GRADERS – HEALTHY NUTRITION

To make our students understand the importance of a balanced and healthy diet we engage them in projects and  help them understand though films. This  year, to help them gain healthy eating habits we look for the answers to the following questions : What is a balanced diet? What is healthy eating? What happens if we eat unhealthy food? What does healthy eating mean? Why do people who have balanced diet become more successful whereas those who eat unhealthy food fail? Which foods should be chosen for a balanced diet?

2nd GRADERS – RECYCLING AND SORTING WASTE MATERIALS

Students are taught how to sort waste materails  in order to raise their environmental awareness. As a part of our project, we arrange trips to Recycling Centers. The boxes made by the students and the waste are separated and sent to the related places.

3rd GRADERS – CONSUMER AWARENESS

We all live in the world of unconscious consumption. We shop at markets and encounter many problems while shopping. At the end of our training, students learn what they need to pay attention to in order to become aware consumers.The following questions need to be answered: Is the quality of the purchased item good? Does it have TSE mark? Is the expiration and manufacture date written?

4th GRADERS – HUMAN RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Humans are social beings who living within a society both have their rights and responsibilities. We encounter many rights violation nowadays. People are entitled to their rights to live, have education, marriage, travel etc. regardless of their gender, race, colour, religion or language.

Our school is also a part of the society. We all work at a school where our main responsibility is to respond to the students right to education. 

What is right and responsibility? How do we differentiate  between rights and responsibilities? What rights and responsilities do we have? What are the problems that we face when we do not use them correctly? What are our duties to use our rights and responsibilities properly? – these are the questions we try to answer. To create a happy and successful  society, everyone should respect each other and continue to exercise his rights and fulfilling  his responsibilities at the same time.

By engaging our students in various activities related to the topic mentioned above, we have guided our students to be sensitive individuals and we will continue to do so in the future.

TEN FINGERS TYPING – 5th Grades

This course teaches the skill of effective typing (typing with all the fingers without looking at the keys) and at the same time enables students to save time while planning creating new information and eventually using language appropriately instead of cutting up words into meaningless utterances while chatting on the Internet.
 

PERSONAL HYGIENE – 5th Grades

This is a 14-week-course that aims to teach students the importance of personal hygiene and how to avoid illnesses. Presented by a doctor, excellent at communication skills with children, the course also gives information about the history and importance of hygiene as well as practical information on hygiene at school and home during adolescence.

6th GRADERS – LEARING GOOD MANNERS

Çevre College educates students as self-confident citizens who will reach a respectful place in the society in the future. In the series of ‘Good Manners’ workshops for 6th grade, students are taught about proper behaviour in different situations. Their attention is focused on the dress code depending on place and time and proper behaviour at a table and many other aspects of appropriate manners in various circumstances. 

7th GRADERS – SPEED READING

In order to improve the visual perception, attention and speed reading skills of our students, a five week speed reading computer programme, which is supported by specialists is organized every year. Through this programme, our students  learn to read faster, memorize a text by using meta thinking methods. They can increase their reading speed up to five times as well as achieving the ability to comprehend what they read.

HUMAN VALUES – 8th Grades

This course aims to enable students to appreciate themselves and others, and to take greater responsibility for their actions and for the world around them. The programme encourages values such as love, respect, honesty, peace of mind, love for nature, generosity and hygiene.
