NUTRITION AND HEALTH – 2nd Grades

Once a week students accompanied by a food specialist cover the following topics: What’s balanced nutrition? What’s healthy nutrition? What are the consequences of unhealthy nutrition? Why are people that take healthy nutrition more successful? Why are people that take unhealthy nutrition less successful? What food is healthy?

CONSUMER AWARENESS – 3rd Grades

The consumption patterns are changing fast and children today are very clear on their choices regarding food, clothing, cosmetics or accessories. Parents are increasingly permitting their children to take decisions when shopping. It then becomes very important for children to check details before buying products. This course aims to enhance these skills at children.

WASTE MANAGEMENT – 4th Grades

This course encourages "reduce, reuse, and recycle" in the classroom and at home while making it exciting and interesting for students. The course is presented by a specialist and lasts for 5 weeks.

TEN FINGERS TYPING – 5th Grades

This course teaches the skill of effective typing (typing with all the fingers without looking at the keys) and at the same time enables students to save time while planning creating new information and eventually using language appropriately instead of cutting up words into meaningless utterances while chatting on the Internet.
 

PERSONAL HYGIENE – 5th Grades

This is a 14-week-course that aims to teach students the importance of personal hygiene and how to avoid illnesses. Presented by a doctor, excellent at communication skills with children, the course also gives information about the history and importance of hygiene as well as practical information on hygiene at school and home during adolescence.


 LEARNING GOOD MANNERS – 6th Grades

This is a practical course developed to increase student's appreciation and knowledge of good manners. The student will improve his / her self-esteem and feel more confident in different social situations.  

SPEED READING – 7th Grades

Our teachers organised a five week speed reading computer programme, which is supported by a specialist, in order to improve visual perception, attention and speed reading skills. Through this programme students   learn to read faster, memorise a text by using meta thinking method, reading speed can be increased up to five times as well as achieving the ability to comprehend what they read. 

HUMAN VALUES – 8th Grades

This course aims to enable students to appreciate themselves and others, and to take greater responsibility for their actions and for the world around them. The programme encourages values such as love, respect, honesty, peace of mind, love for nature, generosity and hygiene.
